Policies and Proecedures at Helix Healthcare during the

Covid-19 pandemic

For the protection of staff and patients and to help control the spread of Corona virus, the following policies and procedures have been instituted at Helix Healthcare:

 

1  If you have FLU-LIKE SYMPTOMS -- DO NOT COME TO THE CLINICStay home, isolate yourself from the rest of your family AND isolate your family from the community at large.  Remain in isolation until the symptoms resolve (approximately 14-days).  

 

Helix Healthcare is open for URGENT appointments only.  If you need to be seen, please call the clinic on 749-4444 to receive instructions on attendance.

 

2  Please follow all internal and external signs posted at the clinic.

 

4  Only patients with urgent medical issues will be seen. 

 

5  Children must attend for consultation with just one parent or guardian

and no siblings.

 

6  Patients with mobility issues must attend with the least number of

helpers necessary to ensure their safety.

 

7  Prescriptions will be refilled over the telephhone.

 

Telephone consultations will be undertaken by the doctors as necessary.  

 

 

PODIATRY PATIENTS

For your protection, inside our facility we have taken the following steps:

 

  • All touchable surfaces have been removed from reception, including products for sale, magazines, and the water dispenser. 

  • The  "sign -in" procedure has been discontinued to reduce the cross-contamination via pens and paper.

  • Plastic barriers have been installed between reception staff and patients.

  • All office-staff members have been instructed to use gloves at all times; to wash their hands every hour, and to wipe down all surfaces in reception with Lysol disinfectant spray at least 3 x day.  

  • As usual, doctors will take all universal precautions advised by the CDC to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.

       * Please note your doctor will wear a mask, gloves and possibly a gown during your consulation and you may also be asked to use a mask and gloves before and/or during your visit to the clinic.
